Agility IP Law Expands Practice with Addition of Attorney Xiang Long

SAN JOSE, CA (May 18, 2010) Silicon Valley newcomer Agility IP Law expanded its practice this week with the addition of attorney Xiang Long as Of Counsel. Long's experience spans several years of intellectual property litigation, including patent and trade secret cases in state and federal courts as well as in the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC). Prior to joining Agility IP Law in May 2010, Xiang worked as an associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto, CA.

Long is a native of mainland, China. His litigation experience encompasses a broad range of technologies including semiconductors, semiconductor packaging, computer hardware and software, nutritional supplements, Internet, e-commerce and consumer electronics.

"Agility IP Law is excited to announce the addition of Xiang Long to our team," says Founder and Lead Attorney Jim Otteson. "Xiang's IP litigation experience and mechanical engineering expertise is particularly relevant for Agility's domestic and international client base."

Notably, Long recently served as counsel for Nantong Foreign Trade Medicines & Health Products, Co. (NFT) in a case brought by Cargill, a multinational producer and marketer of foods, agricultural and industrial products (In re Certain Non-Shellfish Derived Glucosamine and Products Containing Same, ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-668(2009)). The ITC terminated the investigation pursuant to Cargill's request, clearing the way for NFT to import and sell vegan glucosamine in the United States without restriction. Long was also an active member of the trial team for AU Optronics v. LG Display, D. Del., Case No. 07-357-JJF, representing counterclaimant AU Optronics in a multi-patent case against LG Display involving liquid crystal display technology. Following a one-week bench trial, the court ruled in favor of AU Optronics on every claim construction issue and upheld all four patents as valid and infringed.
